About 15 years ago I was diagnosed with Shingles on my face...extremely swollen lips, nose, around eyes...by two local MD's. The condition responded well to meds for shingles. Last summer, it all recurred, but this time my throat swelled. Long story short, autoimmune hives was diagnosed with labs. Did I have shingles? Should I be checked to see if the shingles vaccine is in order? Itching, itching, itching...day after day...driving me crazy!!!

Can your PCP administer this test? Or do you have to be referred to an Allergist?

I was diagnosed with this condition about 8 years ago. It is not a fun thing to have. My condition occurs from certain foods and medication. I have to be very careful in what I eat because the foods I'm eating contains the allergens that will potentially put me in the hospital. I always keep Benadryl on me to slow down the swelling until I can get emergency care. Not fun to have at all.

Ive just been diagnosed with this condition and I can honestly say this is not a pleasant condition it is uncomfortable. And unpleasant and looks horendous. Why do people look at you like you have something contagious. Please people have a little compassion and think before you speak
